Rain Cancellation Policy
Winter / Spring Season Note
If you’re feeling nervous about rain with El Niño coming up, our plan for the Winter / Spring season will be to utilize the month of May to allow as many makeup sessions as possible. Our goal is to maximize your players time on dry & safe courts!
We know how much your child looks forward to tennis class, and rain delays can be frustrating for everyone. Weather is out of our control, but how we handle it isn't, so here's how we'll approach rain cancellations this season.
One or two missed sessions: If weather causes one or two classes to be cancelled, we won't schedule a makeup for that session. Occasional weather is part of playing an outdoor sport, and our season is planned with this in mind.
More than two missed sessions: If rain causes more than two cancellations over the course of the season, we will schedule a makeup session during the week following the season's conclusion. We'll be in touch with the date and time as soon as it's confirmed.
Extended or significant weather disruption: If an unusually rainy stretch causes a notable number of missed classes, we will put together a plan to make up as much of that lost time as reasonably possible. We can't promise a session-for-session replacement in every case, but we are committed to working with families to find a fair solution.
We'll always communicate cancellations as early as possible — typically by email — so you can plan your day accordingly. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate the fall weather together. Our goal is simple: to make sure every player gets the most out of their season, rain or shine.
Enrollment and Cancellation Policy
All registrations for MTC juniors programs are final once booked. We do not offer refunds after enrollment.
Because we schedule instructors, reserve court time, and build groups based on confirmed student demand, changes after enrollment are disruptive and difficult to manage. For that reason, tuition cannot be refunded, credited, or transferred after a family has registered.
If MTC needs to cancel a program before it begins, families will be offered a full refund or a credit toward a future juniors program.
Conduct and Respect Policy
Marin Tennis Club juniors programs work best when players, parents, and staff treat one another with respect and help create a positive environment on and around the courts.
All participating families are expected to follow MTC bylaws and program policies, communicate respectfully with staff, and support good sportsmanship among players.
Disruptive, unsafe, disrespectful, or unsportsmanlike behavior by a player or parent will not be tolerated.
Marin Tennis Club reserves the right to refuse enrollment, or to end a player's continued enrollment, if a child or parent does not act in accordance with MTC bylaws or with general respect for staff, fellow players, and other club families.
Makeup Class Policy
Marin Tennis Club does not offer makeup classes for missed juniors sessions.
If a player misses a class for any reason, including illness, travel, scheduling conflicts, or late arrival, that session cannot be made up, credited, or refunded. Because groups, instructors, and court time are scheduled in advance based on enrollment, we are unable to add players into other classes for makeups.
Media Release Policy
Marin Tennis Club may take photos and videos of players during junior tennis sessions, events, and matches. By enrolling your child, you give MTC permission to use these photos and videos on the club website, social media, newsletters, and other marketing materials, without compensation.
We will not publish a child's full name alongside a photo without separate permission from a parent or guardian, and we will never sell photos or videos to third parties.
If you prefer your child not be photographed or filmed, email tennispro@marintennisclub.com before the season starts, or any time during the season, and we will let the coaching team know. We will do our best to exclude opted-out players from posed shots. Photos already published before an opt-out is received cannot always be removed from printed materials, but we will remove your child from future use and take down digital posts on request.
